About Me

An ambitious student journalist, I am currently a leading figure in two major campus publications at the University of York.

I was named University of York Student Media 'Writer of the Year' in 2024, and was shortlisted for the Student Publication Association 'Best Creative Piece' award in the same year. The Lemon Press was also shortlisted for 'Best Specialist Publication' at the SPAs while I was president of the society.

Recently I was lucky enough to undertake work experience at Kent Online, where I shadowed seasoned industry professionals and worked my way up to a number of bylines.

As editor of The Lemon Press, a campus satire magazine, I oversee four prints a year as well as the general running of a society with an established online presence.

My role as Managing Director of York Vision sees me in charge of the financial and logistical wellbeing of a prestigious campus newspaper, providing invaluable experience in the logistical and legal side of journalism. I also operated as Film and TV editor of the paper last year.

My responsiblities within campus media stretch further still, as I serve as the 'Print Media Representative' to the Students' Union, acting as an advocate for the University's many print publications.

Leadership positions in both publications involve a huge amount of content creation; I have filmed and edited YouTube videos, organised and participated in art exhibitions, maintained social media accounts and designed covers, but my greatest strength remains the writing of consistently engaging, stylish, and well-researched copy.
